Special Session on IEEE Entrepreneurship Asia

The objective of the special session on IEEE Entrepreneurship Asia is to facilitate collaboration of technology entrepreneurs in Asia. The special session will accomplish its objective through the involvement of potential entrepreneurs in sessions and discussions with technology entrepreneurs who will share their experiences and learned lessons, and through learning about tools that are available for supporting technology entrepreneurship. The special session will also pick up the topic of investing on emerging technologies, bringing the point of view of venture capitals and company intrapreneurship. Besides, the special session is an opportunity for researchers and practitioners in technology entrepreneurship, to join this area in its very beginning.

The special session will consist on three sessions.

IEEE Entrepreneurship Activity in China
Lead by Dr. Shaoshan Liu
This session will introduce the current IEEE Entrepreneurship activities in China, the entrepreneurship ecosystem in China. Particularly, China currently has an enormous internal consumer market, a complete technology supply chain, and an ever-increasing number of opportunities for both domestic and international technology entrepreneurs. Some key areas of focus include MedTech, AI and robotics, as well as semiconductors.

IEEE Entrepreneurship Activities in ASEAN
Lead by Ishkandar Baharin
This session will introduce the current IEEE Entrepreneurship activities in ASEAN. ASEAN is an emerging market and technologies are much needed in this market. It is rapidly rising in the global economic landscape. The key area of focus is robotics, especially agricultural robots.

IEEE Entrepreneurship Activities in India
Lead by Chintan R Oza
This session will introduce the current IEEE Entrepreneurship activities in India. With its demographic dividends, booming internal consumer markets, as well as influx of foreign capitals, India is destined to rise in the global technology supply chain. The key area of focus is quantum computing.
